President Donald Trump recently met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska to discuss a ceasefire in Ukraine, warning of "severe consequences" if a deal was not reached. But after leaving his meeting with Putin, Trump seemed more aligned with the Russian President's views on the situation, stating, regarding the deal, "we didn't get there." Later, Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and several European world leaders to discuss the current situation in Ukraine. The other world leaders present other than Trump and Zelenskyy were French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. This meeting came as Trump hinted at organizing a Putin-Zelenskyy meeting.
