The Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, has been elected to a second term. He is the first PM (Prime Minister) in decades to win a second term. Similar to his influence on the recent Canadian election, United States President Donald Trump, with his worldwide tariff policies, influenced this election in favor of the Labor Party, because the Liberal/National Coalition, the most dominant party other than Labor in Australia, is more closely aligned with Trump's views than Labor. It is projected that Labor will hold 85 seats in the Australian House of Representatives, with the Coalition holding 36, and 10 seats will be held by independent or "other parties". These results are projected by ABC, an Australian broadcasting company, but so far, only approximately 70.8% of the vote has been counted, so these are not final results.
