In an interview on NBC News, it was pointed out to President Donald Trump, in regards to recent deportations, that the 5th amendment says that "no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law" and that the Trump administration may have violated that right during the events involving recent deportations. The President responded "I don’t know. It seems — it might say that, but if you’re talking about that, then we’d have to have a million or 2 million or 3 million trials,” he said. “We have thousands of people that are — some murderers and some drug dealers and some of the worst people on Earth." Trump was then asked "But even given those numbers that you’re talking about, don’t you need to uphold the Constitution of the United States as president?" and he replied "I don't know".
